Queensland & Kaftans

About

Queensland is the second largest state in Australia and it is situated in the north-east of Australia, Brisbane being its capital.  It is bordered by Northern Territory, South Australia, and New South Wales.  Queensland has a coastline that stretches for 7,000km from Cape York down to the Gold Coast.  Cape York being the northernmost tip of Queensland whereas the Gold Coast is right on the New South Wales border.  Important to realise is that there are are a huge amount of amazing places between these two destinations.

In addition, Queensland’s population has grown to 5,000,000 in 2018 and generally speaking is concentrated along the south-east coast.  Furthermore, the boom in Queensland’s tourism is not only because of its tropical warm climate but equally because of the beautiful destinations awaiting you.

The state of Queensland was named in honour of Queen Victoria on 6 June 1859 and separated from New South Wales.  Queensland Day is celebrated annually statewide on 6 June.  Queensland was one of the six colonies which became the founding states of Australia with the federation on 1 January 1901.
